About me
Steve Winduss, small business advisor, mentor, intrapreneur* and author of smallbusinessvoodoo.com, based in Hampshire, UK.
What’s the blog all about?
Small businesses are a diverse bunch, but at the core they have the same mechanisms, the clockwork of the business. smallbusinessvoodoo.com shares 17 years of experience with small business start ups particularly in the area of that clockwork.
One of my favourite lines in business is to “fail your way to success”. I can hopefully contribute towards helping start ups to make as few clockwork cock ups as possible on their way to a successful small business experience.
17 years’ experience of what?
In 1991 I was happily employed in sales and marketing for an international drinks company in Hampshire when someone suggested that I couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery. I left within the month to find out. Within five years, my brewery was in the top 5% of UK small brewers (measured by output). Sold in 2002 and have spent the last six years helping others to start their businesses.
What kind of work do you look for?
Looking out for ambitious small business start ups or business rescue opportunities. Participation either as external advisor or as part of management team. If you’d like to share plans along these lines confidentially, then I’m always happy to talk.
